Let’s Talk About The World’s Most Powerful Women of 2020 with Quotes
Yes, this is me again. Writing another story focused on women, women technology, and inspirational females. Because I realized that writing one myself teaches me more than reading one. To write one, you need to read 10, oops… Like every business person’s secret dream, getting into any list of Forbes is exclusive. I saw a lot of inspirational friends I met virtually this year and not only being on that list but also seeing your friends and mentors on that list is way more exclusive. Like… Do I deserve to be around them?
Let’s check out the world’s most powerful women of 2020 list in order to get inspiration. Some of them you probably know or heard of and some of them you don’t. Oh also don’t worry this is not a list of 100 women.
#1 Angela Merkel
I believe that Merkel has become a strong pioneer for women around the world, especially for those who desire to build a career in politics and execution. She’s the first female Chancellor of Germany and she’s at her 4th term right now. She worked unbelievably during Germany's economic crisis and now we all know the surprising growth of the German Economy. She’s such a role model for responding to the pandemic and responding to the citizens in such a caring way. I bet a lot of people would want to live under her roof just to feel safe during these unexpected times. Let me quote:

#2 Christine Lagarde
This is the lady that called out the “groupthink” and asked for a male reform at the 10th year of bank collapse saying “As I have said many times if it had been Lehman Sisters rather than Lehman Brothers, the world might well look a lot different today” At the stage, while she’s saying this it was a memorial moment because male domination in banking underlined by the Head of the Europian Bank. At that time executives and chairs of the four biggest bank in Britain was all male. As the first female Head of the Europian Bank, such a beautiful way to point out the reason we need equality of gender in the workforce.

#3 Kamala Harris
There is no way you haven’t heard of her. Some say the reason Biden won the election is that he has Harris on his side as the vice president role. Do you know why? The reason is the same when women all around the world, but especially in the U.S.A got into tears at the end of the election. Because now, we are one step closer to “everything is possible at the country of possibilities”. Let’s count the first of Harris:
- The first graduate of a historically black college who gets to be a vice president role
- The first African-American and women who serve as California’s attorney general
- The first Indian-American woman elected to the United States Senate
- The first woman elected as the United State Vice President

#4 Ursula von der Leyen
If you didn’t remember, this year she spoke against anti-LGBTQ policies in Poland. That’s the way to use your voice responsibly and positively. At these kinds of moments, I remember the power of people is not measured by the muscle but it can be measured with the influence of one word spoked out of mouths. That’s why right now we live in a society where the gender gap shouldn’t be discussed with arguments including muscle power etc. She is now the president of the European Commission and she acted as the first woman in the role and opened a heavy gate for future females.
“Being yourself is not your ideology, it’s your identity. So I want to be crystal clear — LGBTQI-free zones are humanity free zones. And they have no place in our union.”

#32 Jacinda Ardern
Dear Jacinda, If you’re reading this I’m really sorry to reply to all of your Instagram stories with emojis. I can’t help to get amazed at the discipline and the inexhaustible love of work she has. Once I really replied, you should have someone with you to massage your cheeks. It must be exhausting for you to smile at all people you talk with. She is a role model to all of us by stating that we do not need to grow a thick skin to be taken seriously with the hard work we do. She showed the world that any leader can be both successful and vulnerable at the same time. She is now selected a second time as the prime minister of New Zealand. She showed the world that by giving birth and taking six-week paternity leave, a mother does not work less and can contribute to the community. I mean, she did contribute to the community in such a way…

#85 Sanna Marin
She’s Finland’s Prime Minister and she is the youngest prime minister in the world. She led the coalition with all party leaders are women. I mean what a country to live in. The way she uses social media platforms to spread correct information about coronavirus helped the country to navigate with the wave of coronavirus. She’s a perfect example that the young generation can be trusted. Also, she demonstrated approaching people with modern approaches really responds well. She is a role model for me.

#92 Reese Witherspoon
I remember the increased temperature I had when I watched Legally Blonde. I was a little girl back then feeling like I have to act like a princess and do “girly” things and this is somehow a bad thing. Today thanks to her, I still act like a princess, do “girly” things, and have the confidence of building my own company while backing up to another company. She felt the increase of temperature as well and decided to start a production company Pacific Standard and say “no” to the movies asking her to play the “blond girl”. Now she is operating a book club that underlying the female author's books and stories and she personally invested her time and money in making female lead movies and series. Here at Triwi, we work on a smart wear to help women during their breast self-examination. Because breast cancer is a type of cancer that can be cured with an early diagnosis yet the fatality rate is still extremely high at 40%. We asked why and saw that problem is not that early diagnosis is so hard. It’s actually very simple but also very stressful. We want to raise awareness among women not only about the early diagnosis but also about listening to the signal our bodies give to us. We live in a society where a lot of women grow up afraid to touch themselves. So it’s time to reduce the anxiety about our bodies.
